Soft Opening

Compound Records is now active. All you need is a Paypal account and you can be downloading in no time! Happy Birthday, Ryan Bingham

There is a great article on Ryan Bingham in the Sunday Mar 30 edition of the LA Times. The Compound gets a nice mention. Coincidentally we're in middle of a productive 2 week session with Ryan for what will be his second record with Lost Highway Records. Also the second record with Marc Ford as producer. That makes 3 records in the last 3 months we've made with Marc? That's productivity, folks. There is another record lined up for May and we're not even done with Ryan's record yet. Go Compound Go!

In other news, Compound Records will be launched soon. Compound Records will be our online record store where we sell mp3 downloads from artists that we have worked with or are associated with the Compound. The transactions will be handled by Paypal. Liz Janes

Liz and producer, Chris Schlarb, worked on her next record for Asthmatic Kitty Records (Sufjan Stevens, Half-Handed Cloud, Rafter) over the weekend. Chris assembled a band of local musicians to capture Liz's take on folk/r&b/pop. Most of the band had previously recorded at the Compound, which always makes for a more relaxed and enjoyable session. We are looking forward to working with Liz again in the near future.
